Church seeks to fund local alternative scouting program
St. Mary’s Church in Urbana, Ohio received a charter to establish Trail Life USA Troop # OH 1712. In previous years, the Church had sponsored Cub and Boy Scout programs when scouting was premised on a strong foundation of duty to G-d and country and the ability of a scout to incorporate the religious values of the Abrahamic faiths into his daily life. It is clear that the morals and values of our country, as evidenced by several recent actions of the national scouting organization, are deteriorating at an exponential rate and are becoming increasingly opposed to true Judeo-Christian values. We therefore sought out an unapologetically Christian alternative for our youth program. Trail Life USA is a church based discipleship program that equips men to use outdoor adventure to mentor boys and to develop godly leaders of character. Research to develop surgical method to save mother and baby's life in ectopic pregnancy
Ectopic Pregnancy Study Goal of the study: Ectopic pregnancy (the implantation of the embryo outside of the uterus) affects approximately 1 in 40 pregnancies. Unfortunately, there are currently no treatments that can be utilized to save the life of the baby, meaning that such cases of ectopic pregnancy end with the termination of the baby’s life. The goal of our study is to investigate the potential for developing a surgical technique that could be used to transfer an embryo/fetus in the case of an ectopic pregnancy. As it is not ethical to conduct this experimentation in humans, the goal of our work is to develop this technique in an animal (the laboratory rat) in the hope that the information can benefit humans.
